Episode 37: Mahmoud A. Burning for Jesus, Part 1 (Iran)

OneWay Season 2 Episode 37

Mahmoud grew up in an Iranian prominent Muslim family. His grandfather served as an Ayatollah and Mahmoud was to follow in his footsteps. His faith in Islam even got strengthened as he became a “living martyr” who wanted to learn Biblical Christianity to keep it out of his country. When he encountered a Christian who invited him to church, Mahmoud became so angry he planned on burning down the church

”He got me so angry. I said, ‘Yes, I'm coming.’ My student turned back to me. He said, ‘You’re going to church?’ I said, ‘Of course I'm going to church. This is my country. I give up blood for this country. This is Islamic country; this is my city. We give a right to Christians to have a church in my city. I'm going to burn that church down!’”

In Part 1 hear what it was like to grow up in Iran, what he thought of Christians and how Mahmoud started reading the Bible to fight them. Our Sendoff today features Prayercast.
